Cyprus has close relations with Greece who is also in bad economic shape. The latter country also has a recently popular fascist party with neo-nazi ties growing quickly and gaining support. Greece/Cyprus= Germany/Austria?.............Maybe Spain can be the modern day Italy of Mussolini' s vision? Would never happen on as large of a scale as during the WW2 era, but could still be a headache for Europeans and the Mediterranean.

Reading comments on another news site, several nonJWs stated they were praying for the two victims. I thought how ironic because the average JW isnt praying on behalf of any nonJW that suffered a tragedy. Anytime a tragic event happens, the only concern of JWs not affected is how JWs that could have been affected are holding up. Everybody else is viewed as collateral damage and chatter in the background. They're really indifferent to nonJWs unless they're counting time.
On a positive note the two victims conditions were upgraded.

One Saturday afternoon I saw two Mormon woman on a busy street here in the city. They both operated much like JWs although rather than posting up like JWs do, they continued walking and I guess whomever seemed friendly to them or made eye contact, they preached to. They covered a fair amount of ground too as I parked somewhere to hit the ATM. When leaving I ended up driving past them and they must have covered a good half mile. One couldn't accuse them of preaching were people weren't.

A lesson in contrast. Some might not remember that a year ago sans a month, JWs made the news when they assisted in fending off a pitbull attacking a 77 year old grandmother. Notice the differences in JWs commenting on the story then, and now. I imagine those of you on FB can provide other JW comments on the story from a year ago where they profess a belief that God had something to do with it.
Go my dear sisters! To any scoffers: be glad when you see Jehovah's Witnesses in your neighborhood. They are good people actively doing God's will and we are there because we all care about you and are always willing to help you. Amber Harper I am so glad that woman is okay! While dude didn't have to go to court, his reputation took a hit. Point is, woman plays you, dumps you, life goes on. Does The Governing Body Fear Worldwide Exposure Of Their Delusional Bible Interpetations?
by frankiespeakin ini think in the deeper recesses of their minds they know that soon they will be loosing this battle and that some video on youtube will go viral bringing them shame and exposure.. the way i see it, this battle is just starting and is going to get much worse in the future, they are multiplying the number of people willing to expose them by their cruel practice of disfellowshipping used as a form of information control.. people who are waking up to the governing body's deceptions are growing in numbers all the time, and what starts out as a trickle of people leaving can become a flood in time which seems very likely.
as the numbers become greater and greater the more worried they should be, and this is seen in their more merciless treatment of those who no longer beleive their crap, they are willing to do what ever it takes to keep the rank and file in darkness and under their control.

I think to some degree they do fear worldwide exposure. It likely plays a huge role into why they don't promote their message via mass media. Harold Camping got his message out and made a complete fool of himself, but none the less he got his message out and had a worldwide audience. I mean he felt that strongly about the message that he went all out when he promoted his beliefs. Way back when the WT's motto was advertise, advertise, advertise, they used radio, used loudspeakers from passing automobiles, billboards, held rallies, took out full page newspaper ads promoting upcoming assemblies and conventions, caused trouble just for media attention, etc.. Now what do they do? Hand out cheaply produced magazines and invitations with spaces for a stick-em address. What's the end result?
Despite all of the hours spent preaching, nobody that knows twenty other people has any clue as to what JWs believe other than they don't celebrate holidays and show up univited on weekend mornings. Great job getting the message out McFly, oops I mean Watchtower. It's a joke. Busybody work, that's all. The last thing the the WT wants is people knowing what they really teach and what JWs really believe. Hence, there's public literature, but on the flipside there's study material for inhouse use only. Hence the deceptive answers on the website vs what those on this message board know all too well regarding blood transfusions, family breakup, false prophecies, etc.. Their MO nowadays is retention. It's a bonus if a sucker or two get swindled into the religion.
